Door knocking on farmers will be the best, if they allow they will only normally let you on the paddocks without livestock on. I've just got on side with a farmer who has pigs for shooting rats which he has an abundance of, I haven't done a shoot there yet though.

Unless you know people with land then its probably doing the hard yards; door knocking and/or letter drop to establish interest in helping them control the quality of their grounds by removing a pest.

Hi all, keen to get into some rabbit hunting north of Auckland - are there any areas that it's allowed? otherwise heading up to waipu for the weekend so curious if there's any spots near there that are legal to hunt with an air rifle!

To abhor hunting is to hate the place from which you came, which is akin to hating yourself in some distant, abstract way. - Steven Rinella
