My most recent ex partner , at 58 years of age, had never shot a rifle before she met me. Took the .22 rimfire out to a campsite, taught her the safety steps, showed her the shooting procedure i went through and then said to her "Just line up the centre point of the dot inn the scope with the target and gently squeeze the trigger". A `10 shot mag later and she had eclipsed the centre bull, at 20m , with touching shots. Not what I managed when I was showing her.
Did I hear about it, ever? Maybe, every day, for about a year, especially in front of her and my family. I always just gritted my teeth and espoused my virtues as a teacher. "When the pupil exceeds the teacher, the teacher has done their job."

Reminds me of a mate and I, both trained shooters, took his 16 year old daughter out to the range to teach her how to shoot, technique etc impart our wisdom on her and she out shot both of us all day., with our own rifles we blamed the coffee, not enough of it lol |

I have a little Two Forty, made in China by SPA (I assume) and it shoots very well. In the same class as the HW30, but with a very plain wooden stock and half the price. My star Chinese performer however is my .22 Outlaw PCP, also made by SPA. I had a few QC issues with it initially but it's an absolute beaut. Currently being used at our range by my niece and she shot these last Saturday. To put it into context, each round involved dropping metal silhouettes (10 x chickens elected by most participants) followed by a single shot on a target, Scoring was by the number of silhouettes dropped multiplied by their value (4 for a chicken down to 1 for a ram) and then multiplied by the target score (the multiplier). This was indoors at 25 yds and she was shooting 18 gr FX (JSB) pellets. This girl has been shooting for less than 6 months and is doing very well. On this occasion she dropped all chickens followed by a bullseye for each of the two rounds achieving the maximum possible score. Enough said  |

I don’t know anything about the Diana AR8, or the 350, but I’ve heard good things about the 350.
What I do know about Diana’s is that I owned a Diana 48 for many years, which I loved. Put thousands of pellets through thet rifle and was very sad to have to sell it. About 2 years ago I bought a second hand Diana 54 and was lucky enough to also get hold of a Diana 56th, and I love both of them. German engenering, lovely rifles. I own two Gamos, a 12FPE .22 CFR for me, and a 4.5FPE .177 delta fox for my son. Both shoot beautifully 👌🏻 I think any of the Diana’s that are made in Germany will be good rifles. |

Currently too young by a few years but his parents have said he can have one when he turns ten (under adult supervision of course). Thanks for the offer of the pistol but he'd be far too weak to cock it for sure.

The Gamo pellets question was one I answered the other day, incorrectly, as it turned out. The Gamo Hunters, through the .22, were bloody good at 20m, pretty good at 30m and then, somewhere between 30 and 40m, they turn to sh*t. 4 inch 5 shot groups. Not sure what happens, but maybe it's the grooved skirt causing issues as some of them were tumbling at 40m.
Thought, maybe, it was me, but Hornets, Crow Magnums and JSB Hades, which were the pick of them, were all grouping. I had 2500 Gamo Hunters put aside at Gun City, but thanked them and canned that plan. I'll stick with the Hades. Of which there are bugger all in the country at the moment. TR6, can you manually de cock the Diana 34EMS without modifications? I'd like to have one rifle with open sights and they review very well. |

How old is your grandson?
Your more than welcome to borrow the mod 25 super I just brought for a couple of months to play with. Hell of pistol to break barrel, which is why if he's younger may not be a good idea. But its just a passing whimsy for me so have no issues loaning it out. |

Not really planning to utilise that feature. I ordered in .177 for shooting pigeons etc indoors where my PCP would be overkill. Also with synthetic stock, as is my Dreamline - both intended for hunting use. All of my other guns have wooden stocks but they're limited to range use only. At the same time I ordered a 21 Panther for my Grandson. I had previously purchased a 1977 Mod 25 off Collector Weapons for him, but it's too damned good to give away and I use it for close range standing shooting. It's such a lovely little thing, only around 3ftlb, but an absolute delight to use. I believe the trigger on the 21 should be better than that of the similarly priced Cometa 200. We'll see.....

Im suprised at the diana tr6. Would be of the same opinion. However think that comment would have more impact from you due to your experience and knowledge.
Unfortunately popularity will end up increasing the price as more ppl get onto them. You got any plans to take advantage of its "modular system"? Barrel swapping and piston etc Thanks for mentioning a gamo that shoots well. Nice to see some non negative responce, from an experienced shooter. Beside mercs that is. I have an early Gamo that I purchased together with a BSA Meteor for $80 the pair from Gun City. The BSA was complete rubbish, the Gamo is beautiful, built as well as a Weihrauch and very accurate. An early one though, when they made quality stuff with no plastic components. Their pellets are rubbish. Nobody with any interest in accuracy uses them. Not much better than the BSA crap. Just ordered a Diana 34 EMS. My current thinking is that this brand may offer the best value air rifles available today. Older or high-end Gamo models tend to feature full-metal breech blocks, while mid-to-lower-range break-barrels frequently use the plastic-coated/polymer block design.
So what about there steel design does that pass the grade? Or do we now ignore that and focus on the low end models to rubbish the whole range? From personal experience wiehrach hw97 original spring set up  ( Or am i not allowed to say that because it's wiehrach) Like say every brand has its good and bad models.
