A few years ago I bought a couple of them from a $1 res GC auction. They were faulty, but thoroughly enjoyed repairing them, then sold them on. I reckon they are a great little gun to have. I have been tempted by them over and over since, but haven't bought one again. The only downside I reckon is the small cannister, but If you can, I think you should, as they are great to grab for a quick plink or some tuning.

Both my latest rifles i just kept tighten the screws and allen keys on both gun, checking every few shots. They settle in and grip.
I do have blue loctight but haven't had to use it yet. But its there for if i get a screw that keeps unwinding it's self. Things are going to loosen as you break it in. Welcome back to air rifles. Whole different world of guns than yester year. rather enjoying the better gun advancement. |

Is it a good idea to use blue locktite on the scope screws ? Ive definitely got the airgun bug again , am currently looking into the .22 air chief rapid repeater mods. Im going to buy one in the next couple of weeks to tinker with.

I've never had one, but my theory is if you can hit a bottle cap consistently at 25 m you're doing good.
Just keep an eye on the scope mounts, that they aren't slowly creeping due to recoil. Draw a pencil witness mark on action and mount to see if it moves over time, otherwise as i'm sure you know, find a pellet it likes. |

Hey guys ,
seems like I have done the full loop. Obtained my FAL 5 years ago but have circled back around to air rifles again haha. So I brought a air rifle from gun city to deal with the rabbits that are unshootable because of house that are built up around us. I went to gun city with the intention of buying a Air chief in .22 and maybe modifying it to handle the bunnies but had in the back of my mind the fact that I woudnt use it much and storing it with the co2 cartridge in it. I ended up walking out with a BSA comet red devil and a gamo scope 3-9-40. The salesman made it a great deal and i got it for $470. I zeroed it at 10 meters and shot a rabbit last night with it so pretty happy. My question is , has anyone had one of these air rifles and had any problems with them ? I know its too late to ask now that ive brought it but it is what it is lol. Im going to start getting back into air rifles again I feel as it was great fun to sight in again and shoot. Would like to buy a PCP but they are expensive to set up !'Anyways thanks for reading. |
