Interesting I just put this scope back on my Gamo .25 only thing is it is not a milldot rectile which I think is a lot hander for hold over or under as my .25 has very large curve in it's flight path well the Gamo scope is getting a beating on my .25 and no issues yet

Could hit the farmer up to let him practice stalking with an air rifle.
Obviously not to shoot but just get stalking, and use to getting into position, and lining up the shot. Skills only pratice give you. |

Safe shooting direction, but on private property so would need permission from the farmer first.
Personally I have no desire to shoot the deer but am keen to have a wander around on the other side of the trees with a camera as there are a LOT of deer in that area. Farmer is quite happy for me to do this. My son-in-law who lives on the same property as me is quite keen to get his FAL and go after deer. There are quite few area quite close by with deer he can shoot and I'm sure he could get permission from the farmer to take one or two on his property.

Yep the gamo .22 might be bit under powered for deer. Lol
What is the replace with one of these? Sort of stops there and goes onto deer. Man i thought I had a good shooting area. But being able to shoot deer from the deck, while having a coffee. Does it get any more lush? Im assuming thats a safe shooting direction. |

I am tempted to sell my gamo 22 and replace it with one of these. Yeah, think the night vison will end up for spotting/observation. Should be fun during next years roar. Below is a picture from my deck during this year's. These are wild stags - while the farm next door was once a deer farm (hence the deer fence) it is now part of an organic dairy farm.

The fact with lead in .22 they say it drops to 800fps makes it more appealing. Bsa barrels are supposed to be good, it is a definitely in the look into more catagory.
Bummer about the scope. Got a .22lr? Or maybe its just a case of getting the rifle and nv out during the day and devolping the technique thats gonna work best. Then practicing for a bit so you've got some sort flow for the field. Familiarity and muscle memory are going to be your best for rapid transition in the field. I had a hell of a lot fun just going out at night and watching where critters went. There's a little link in "you got to be out there to see" To a video i called susaside bunny. Still amuses me. Wasn't shooting at time. Did swap it for a chrono in end mind, figuring it was more useful than a scope I couldn't put on rifle at the end of day. But well worth having for the observation of animal behavior when you approach with in dark as opposed to using torch. They are fun. |

This might be worth a look ...
$400 for a 10 shot .22 break-barrel - no scope. BTW the manufacture recommended NOT putting my night vision scope on the Hatsan!

Not sure what its worth Pete. If its the one i think it is, it came from either his grandad or his friends grandad.
Member of a different site who put the pic up when he got it and it caught my interest strait away. -Ec good move with the night vision, checking first. Could you grab a usb cover and micro sd cover off some other thing. They are a pretty standard size. Glasses on a string around your neck so you can just flick them off and let them hang there? Once ya got it set up, get those gamo pellets and line em up and shoot em down. Might as well get some shooting pratice with them lol.(im quite bummed out i didn't think of that before i threw all my crap pellets away,or shot them through the air chief barrel bolted to a post.) |

Yeah - that is one of the CV Life reviews I watched before I purchased mine which is a slightly different model to the one tested. Both Nick on the TbT channel and Jeff from HFT shooter seemed impressed with CV Life scopes for the price. I did contact CV Life and they are quite happy for me to put mine on my .30 Hatsan and said that if I had any issues they would honor their warranty. So far I have only used mine on my .22 Gamo.
I agree regarding using the night vison as a spotter scope - have to use my left eye. I have found I cannot get the diopter adjustment clear enough without waring my glasses but my scopes are adjusted for not waring glasses which is an additional issue. Also not impressed with the charging port and micro SD card slot being exposed. I have contacted the manufacturer to ask about using it on a springer. I would like to put it on my Gamo for pest control out to about 25 meters and use the CV Life for targets. I am impressed with the clarity - particularly in low light conditions. I also agree with the gamo pellets - they are the same a one of the tins I got with my gun. They are very inconsistent in weight and size. Some fit smoothly into the gun and others have to be forced into it. I have never been able to get a consistent group with them. Really only good for for melting down and turning into fishing sinkers!
