Hi Pete.

I've tried all the pellet types I have on hand under 18gr and it's petty much the same issue with all of them.  Several accurate with outliers interspersed.

I may do a minor mod to the existing barrel before I try something else and see if that helps at all.  I have also been given some Sig Sauer Daggers to try.

Hi Kiwi,
Before changing barrels and cutting down things, have you tried a bunch of different pellets through the gun first?
Its very possible you just need to find the right pellet that barrel likes?
Walk quietly, but carry a big stick.

I've built a 2250 based PCP pistol for target shooting but the pellets are are too easy to push through with a rod (in my opinion) and it doesn't shoot as accurately as my 2240 PCP pistol which utilizes a cut down 2250 barrel. I suspect the loose fit is the cause of the inaccuracy after having dialed in the operating pressure and hammer spring tension.  It's shooting at 550fps, exactly the same as the other gun and producing 9fpe with 13gr JSBs, but doesn't group as well even though it's a longer barrel.

I'd like to try something else but now have the new 2260 barrel as a backup.  Regardless, I'll do a pellet push through test on anything I get before I start cutting and machining.

What's the project? Personally I've found the crossman barrel I got for 1322 pretty dam good, it's accurate. Rather thin walled I thought, I imagine if its free floating it's full length that it will vibrate a bit.

Thanks Kruza.  I've been in touch with Ron already, he only had .177 available secondhand but I did buy a new 2260 barrel from him which I can cut down if I don't manage to find something else.

A Cometa would be ideal, but probably not that common.

Try young’s Airguns - he often has a bunch of barrels off old break barrels for sale for a good price. Hit and miss what’s available, but could get lucky with a Cometa barrel or similar

I'm looking for a barrel or a damaged rifle with a decent barrel in .22 caliber that I can modify to suit my new custom PCP pistol.  I have a new Crosman on its way, but would prefer something else if I can locate something suitable.  I'm not interested in anything Gamo or sleeved in a plastic outer, casing, it needs to be all metal.  Age doesn't matter so long as the product had a good reputation for accuracy when available.  In an ideal world I'd import a LW barrel but that's not easy to do.

If you think you might have something suitable, please PM me.
