Can't see the point in getting to complicated on trigger for this gun.
A simple stop for trigger seems enough for me.
Another idea I had, but won't be doing due to lack of tools, was to bore a small hole into the breech block, to the bottom left or right of the barrel.
Thread the top so a small cap with center drilled out could be screwed over the top of a spring and ball bearing put into the hole, and a shallow receiving hole on other side for the bearing to lock into.
Barrel lock. In theory would hold barrel in same place when closed.

I'm sure normal electrical solder would be fine Paul, there's no real load on the adjuster.  I just happen to have some silver-solder which is stronger and flows really nicely if you strategically place tiny little off cuts.

I had thought about that way too. I was thinking about using a backing piece inside the hollow trigger to thread into, but it could be fiddly.

For brazing, how well would silver solder that we use for electrical connections work?

With the piston your after a grease that doesn't detonate. I think the edge of the pistons seals can reach upto 700 deg (not sure if that f or c) but it causes the grease (petrolium based greases in particular) to detonate causing a increase in pressure within the chamber. This gives uneven pressures from shot to shot, causing differnt impact points of pellet. It can also dam damage the seal.
Look up dieseling on the Web.
It is not recommended to do this but check it out to see what I'm on about.

You and me both with the "wow OK that's a little more involved than I'll be doing" pete.
But on the plus side doesn't seem that all the work is giving any significant gains... Yet.
When I pulled the piston out the chamber had way to much oil in it. Enough to pool, so that is the most likely cause of the smoke.
Graphite grease seems to be the what is most commonly recommended for piston chamber. Crossman make cylinder lube for springers (not to be confused with pelgun oil used for pumpers and CO2, which I did first off) handy stuff to have for any of your springers.
As for all the stuff going on with it all, if you can take the movement out of your barrel, get your piston running smooth and strait, have your seals sealing good your still way in the running for tighten your groups. Pellet choice will prob aid it alot as well.
The trigger being lightened will help heaps too. It would works for the seal, but I don't think it's best for metal on metal. The big thing is that due to the pistons action it migrates forwad, which is what makes moly ideal as it really only needs a smearing. I can send you some moly in the post if you like? It goes such a long way as you don't use much.

Did you rinse out the compression tube area? I gave it a blast with brake cleaner then a good wipe with a rag and my smoke has now stopped after I put it back together.

Mine was very smokey and when I pulled it down it had been lubricated with what appeared to be used engine oil, it was very dark brown in colour.  I'll leave it to someone more knowledgeable to comment on the use of silicon grease.

I wish I had the knowledge, and the tools to be able to make all of these things.
My “improvements” will probably just be to strip, clean, and if I’m lucky, reassemble 😂
