Looks like a nice setup to me.
I went for a walk around the farm last night because I had been out to a party and got home nice and late. Anyway I did not see one possum.............oh well the walk cleared my head some. |

Arrived today, seems really decent quality for the price, and its quick to get the light off as the ring has a big thumb screw. |

Yeah Nunga, they look like a good plan.
I like the flexibility of the removable mounts. I find when I leave my torch on I tend to bump the sights more via the torch. I am always leaning my rifle up in the shed or close to someplace I am working around the property which is bad enough, without adding the torch. |

i just use these. http://www.trademe.co.nz/sports/hunting-shooting/firearm-parts/mounts/auction-665861827.htm
I have had them for 4 years now and do the job well and they dont mark your barrel or scope or the torch because they are rubber. The Velcro straps make it easy to remove and put on. |

yes that's the one I have with the double circle but it was not tall enough to get the torch above the scope adjuster turrets.............Pain.
Also It would not go between the base and the scope so limits mounting options. The one I have now is so quick and easy. I leave it off so it's not in my way during the day when I do most of my shooting but it goes on so quick and easy I can hear a possum and throw it on when I need it. As I said I did cut the ends off which improved it 100% was only $17 on trademe

I've got one of these and a $2 30mm ring on the way to mount my P7
http://dx.com/p/aluminum-alloy-bracket-mount-with-hex-wrench-for-m16-gun-25mm-caliber-47332 Also the $50 mount that Gun City "came up with" http://www.guncity.com/torch-mount-for-led-lenser-p7-mt7-xidp233511.html can be had for under nz$7 http://dx.com/p/25-30-gun-mount-holder-clip-clamp-for-flashlight-bicycle-light-lamp-203843 Edited by Raizer - 27 Nov 2013 at 9:57am |

I got the mount and it seems fine so far.
They had kind of a flange past where the light is held that stopped me mounting it where the rail is so I cut them off. Now it looks better (more compact) and I can mount it anywhere on my scope even where the rail mount is (the gap between the mount and scope is to small for a regular light mount). The only thing negative I could say is the thread is plastic, but seems fine the plastic is very hard and nice. I put a little lanolin on the thread and it runs smooth. I can pop the light on in about 20 seconds so it is nice not to have the mount there all the time. |

Why not use a barrel mount one? Or attach a ris/ras rail to the side and use weaver mounts?
