Hey what's the rating for your night vision? Gamo magnium can be real scope destroyers, you want to make sure it's air rifle rated.

Or if you really want to be number 8 style you can cut up a plastic coke bottle and wrap that around the spring. ( just make sure it is no longer than 110mm as that is the stroke on those and you dont want to crush the plastic and munt it into the spring.

As for the trigger. look in the for sale section on this forum...there is a guy called nunga that makes after market triggers for those lemons Thumbs Up

The twang can sometimes be remedied by fitting a better sized spring guide and a spring shroud, which can be made out of coke bottle and fits between spring and inside of piston.

You can fit a longer screw to reduce the length of the second stage. Don't overdo it as you can easily make it dangerously light and it can fire unintentionally. The screw doesn't reduce the weight of pull, just the length of travel. Polishing the sear surfaces where they rub will make it crisper less gritty but on a Gamo is still attempting to polish the turd. If you can afford it, save your time and go straight to an Air Arms, Diana, Weihrauch: the triggers on these (along with everything else) are leagues ahead of Gamo, Crosman, Benjamin etc. Or search for a Charlie da Tuna trigger. These are after market triggers made in the US.

CDT trigger - note there are different models to suit different Gamo trigger designs

Happy shooting

Trigger change made a big difference to the Gamo I gave my son.

But they are the most twangy firing air rifles I've used.

Welcome Keiptic,

I've got two gamos and I enjoy both of them.
the only mod I can tell you about is a veryeasy way to improve the trigger slightly.
It makes it better, but its still not great. Unfortunatly in my humble oppinion, triggers are gamos weak points, I really wish they would produce a decent one.
But none the less, I do enjoy my two gamos.

Lets see some pics of yours

Welcome from the West, rabbit at 50metres with a Gamo, nice, you are already have 10 metres on me.

I am yet to work on my break barrel Gamo's apart from general lubrication.
I find the mid-power units with the CAT2 trigger perfectly reasonable to use and leave at factory settings for safety reasons.
Reviews about most of mine are on the site.

cheers

Hi Kreptik,

Welcome to the forum. Yea triggers play a big part in making a gun accurate. I don't much about your guns, but with my own I have often taken the sears out and gently smoothed off connecting faces. also careful adjustment of the travel can have a big impact.

Basically if the trigger is predictable and you know when it will "let off" then your muscle memory kicks in and in theory you don't pull shots.

We are always keen to see photos too.
