I have dabbled in slugs and for close ranges i have found them great at lower power, but if you want to go out past 40m you will need higher power and to tune.

I tried some at 15m at about 12 ft/lb and it was honestly same hole, then also at around 30 ft/lb and they were fantastic out to 50/60 especially in windy conditions, but much further and they really need that push to remain accurate.

Just my experience so far.

Pauly, was that with your Impact? And what make and weight of slugs were they?
Pete.

I have a compact Wildcat with the short barrel. They were great at low power throught that, and for the higher power it was my impact. So similar barrels

They are Spyda slugs. 25 grn deep hollow point. Made by a guy in the South Island. They end up about 13 cents each plus postage.

he makes other weights too. He's a nice guy, and you can probably buy a selection of weights to try. I have 25, 28 30 and 35 grain slugs in sample packets that i've never shot yet.
