The Ballistic Coefficient is .017 And JSBs are .031 so they do drop like a rock over 25m with my gun. But they get through a mass of feathers much better at shorter ranges. JSBs can bounce off mynahs. For rabbits etc they have no advantage.

DD

I did that test before I had a chrony, maybe have to try again to see how much more velocity they lose than a rounded pellet.

The rounded one seem to have no problem penetrating a hare, I don't shoot many birds, just a few magpies.

They are the only ones that drop Mynahs at 25yrds, from my 15ftlbs Cometa, with awesome regularity. Hit almost anywhere and they drop, a few flaps and gasps and they expire, usually with loads of blood loss.

Nothing else I have tried are as accurate and lethal on Mynahs. The Hornets are good but not reliably accurate in my gun, which is only average power certainly no magnum. At $15 for 200 they are not cheap but they are killers. The point penetrates those feathers really well.

DD
