    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="www.kiwiairgunners.co.nz/member_profile.asp?PF=460">robertsm</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 325<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 31&nbsp;Mar&nbsp;2017 at 9:39am<br /><br />I use a home made add on kit. &nbsp;IR torch mounts to scope as does the screen to view the footage from the camera fitted to the scope.<div><br></div><div>These things pick up eye shine of animals at over 150m through the scope with the ir light. &nbsp;Just like a normal torch picks up a reflector in the distance.</div><div><br></div><div>I've made a hand held spotter that uses a lower powered security camera lens instead of a scope for a lens. &nbsp;I use to to scan a field or tree to check for eye shine before switching to the rifle to get a better look and shot.</div><div><br></div><div>Here's some footage filmed through the scope using my home made kit.</div><div><br></div><div><a href="https://youtu.be/oVhT2Rg8BeU" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://youtu.be/oVhT2Rg8BeU</a><br></div><div><br></div><div><a href="https://youtu.be/OfxINQKT7Uw" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">https://youtu.be/OfxINQKT7Uw</a><br></div><div><br></div><div>IR and night vision is great. &nbsp;You can stalk and shoot in complete darkness and animals don't spook or shy from any light. &nbsp;I am now an absolute NV convert. &nbsp;99% of my shooting is done after dark - bring on the change in day lights savings!</div>]]>

With the Infrared setup the camera has to have a long focal length lens for it to work through the scope and this cuts down your filed of view so i was just wondering how this would effect things. <br>]]>
