    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="www.kiwiairgunners.co.nz/member_profile.asp?PF=815">Ashman</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1375<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 13&nbsp;Jun&nbsp;2026 at 9:35pm<br /><br />Picked up the .25 HW90 on the way to the camp.<div>Put about 30 pellets through it with the rifle, obviously, judging by the cocking effort required, at or over the max.&nbsp; I can do 15 pull ups in the first set and 20 odd arm curls with 15kg so I'm no slouch strength wise, but that thing was a way bigger workout than the .22 was.&nbsp; &nbsp;Took out the protector screw, gave the valve the gentlest nudge.... and the Schrader valve got stuck open and it emptied out and died in my hands.</div><div>Got back to base and re pressurised it with a BBB 400 PSI pump and a Rockshox Monarch Schrader valve purchased from Chain Reaction Bicycles here in Christchurch and just put 50 pellets through it at 19 Bar before the rugby started.</div><div>H &amp; N Barracuda at 30 odd gn and Barracuda Hunter Extreme at 28 odd were a bit loose at that pressure but the JSB King Diabolo at 25gn produced 2 consecutive 1 hole groups at 20m so I'll work with them when the new scope arrives on Monday as the no AO 4 -12 X 44 is not all that suitable whereas the Diamond will be, I hope.</div><div>More to come, but the .25, as is the .22,&nbsp; is sublime to shoot.&nbsp; The Elite trigger, well, I'm no air expert, as you all know, but I've had some mighty fine centre fire and rim fire triggers, both worked and stock and that Elite unit is almost Rekord breaking.&nbsp; Almost.</div><div>Thud, no twang, of course, and the recoil is straight back and at 19.5 bar, very manageable.</div><div>More to come once the scope arrives.</div><div>Anyone got any Sports Match Dampa 11mm dovetail 30mm dia rings for sale?</div>]]>

    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="www.kiwiairgunners.co.nz/member_profile.asp?PF=815">Ashman</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1375<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 09&nbsp;Jun&nbsp;2026 at 9:57pm<br /><br />So put another 150 pellets through the lightly fettled HW90 and off front bag with crossover hold the groups tightened up a lot once I cracked a can of Kruzas H &amp; N FTT's 14.66 that he sent with the 97.&nbsp; 350 mixed pellets in, including the 97's preferred Hades and JSB 15.89gn, and following the pellet testing protocol above, the last couple of groups were 1 holers at 20m of roughly 5mm.<div>Promising start.</div><div>It's coming with me tomorrow to my campsite at the Lake and between fishing and kayaking it'll test it out to 50m and see how that goes.</div><div>Another rifle that is pure bliss to shoot despite only about a pound of air let out and still fairly stout to cock at roughly 40lb.</div><div>I've just ordered a pump, gauge and Schrader valve connector so next step will be ladder pressure testing, whenever that kit arrives.</div><div>Quite noisy, as it has open sights, not moderator like my others and they'll be ripping at about 750-800fps at that grain weight.</div><div>Very distinctive operating sound.&nbsp; No twang, obviously, and way less operating noise than the Magnum Gamos by far, plus the recoil is vastly different and far softer, plus linear without the flip and clank. Couldn't get the .25 tonight so picking it up in the morning on the way to Arthurs Pass.&nbsp; I'll try a few rounds with that with the open sights once I've adjusted the barrel tensioner bolts and the stock screws are all tested.&nbsp; Hopefully I'll get to see what it's like shooting rising trout<img src="www.kiwiairgunners.co.nz/smileys/smiley17.gif" border="0" alt="T&#111;ngue" title="T&#111;ngue" />&nbsp;</div>]]>
