Yes Pete, I have some 30gr Zan slugs coming with a gun I have on order.  They should be leaving today or tomorrow.

Shipping cost has to be taken into account, as at around 40 Euros you need  to be buying a few tins at a time.  If you're lucky enough not to get stung with VAT at this end then they can work out around $32/500 tin equivalent.

The issue is they come by airfreight, so even if they are well packaged in bubble wrap they get a hell of a lot of abuse along the way.  One of my early packages was broken open when it arrived in Germany and had to be returned and replaced.

I've been buying quite a few tins of the 18.3gr JTS Knock Outs (actually made in China),  I'm finding they are more accurate than JSBs and probably as good as or better than the AA equivalent.  They're only available in tins of 250 (aluminium) and I have had a few arrive dented but I've not had damage to the pellets themselves.

The local importers will be bringing them in by the box full on pallets via sea freight so much less chance of them being damaged.

To be honest Kruz, I just shoot them, but keep an eye out for damaged pellets as I load the mags. I don't get many damaged ones, and the rabbits don't seem to mind if they get hit in the eye socket, temple or ear hole.

Last order took about 4 days to get to NZ and about another 3 to 7 days to get from Auck to Wgtn. It is a bigger outlay, but as you can see Pete, the cost is way better.

Just had a look on the Krale website, they do have Zan slugs.

Also had a look at the price of a tin of 250 .22 hades... makes me cry!
Krale sells a tin for Euros 7.89, thats $14.40NZD
I've just paid $28 here for the same tin... Double the price! Another NZ website has them listed for $37!!!!!

A tin of JSB 10gr KnockOut slugs on Krale is Euros 10.70, thats $19.54NZD
For the same tin here I pay $43
And dont tell me thats the cost of shipping, thats BS.

One tin ships from the factory to the Krale shop, they put a mark up on it and sell it for $14.40
The next tin ships to a NZ shop, they put a mark up on it and sell it for $37... Was it traveling in First Class???

The next time I need to buy pellets I think I'll give messrs Krale a try.

I'm guessing the supply chain looks something like this...

Factory - shipping - Oz importer - shipping - NZ distributor - shipping - local gun shop - shipping - me.
     VS
Factory - shipping - Krale - shipping - me.

Go figure...

You'd be better off chosing your transport company.
Mainfreight tend to be owner operators and have trained forklift operators who are responcable for loads they put on. Places like daily freight in auckland ive seen bored freight handlers kicking boxes into loose parcel bins.
Also want to get a company who does direct freight to where ever the town they are getting sent to goes to.
Its not uncommon for freight to go to one place to be unloaded to go another truck that is heading to your town.
Example i know of would be a parcel from auckland to hasting.
Loaded Auckland to Wellington,unloaded to get loaded onto a early truck going to palmy north, then unload at palmy to get loaded onto a truck going to hastings. Unloaded and then picked up by courier
That's why some companies just have in transit and no details.
Nor do you want it sitting in a depot over the weekend, monday morning is hella busy and theres lots of freight needs to be got on trucks,in a short period of time. Also usually some shuffling around as stuff arrives at depot on the friday, sat morning but isn't leaving till mon.

Pauly... the cheepest I could find .22 Hades was $28 for a tin of 250.
Not so long ago I was buying tins of 500 for $40.
So your Krale order that worked out at $30.45 for 500 seems like very good value

Kiwi, do you know if Krale sell/ship Zan slugs?

If some of you guys are keen we could look into putting together an order and spliting the shipping costs.
I think if the order is big enough we could ask them to ship them in a decent wooden box and just cover the thing with "FRAGILE" stickers...?

Check out what level in the the tins the most damage happens pauly.
Ive got sneaking suspicion that between containers being lifted of the ship, forkhoists lifting and loading pellets on and off trucks the vibration of road trip that the 500 pellet tins are going to be damaging the bottom pellets more due to extra weight on them. Approx 2x that of a 250 tin.
As tr6 said the thinner the skirts the worse it will be.
Better not forget shop handling either, i had one idiot throw a tin of pellets on the counter then get his nose out of joint when i told him to swap it for a tin that that hadn't been tossed from the shelf to the counter.

I have been purchasing pellets from Krale for a while now due to the lack of anything suitable here and the seemingly never ending shortages.  

The pricing is good but the shipping damage can be significant, especially the lighter .22 cal in tins of 500.  The casualty rate of my tins of 13.43gr JSBs with very thin skirts was around 80% even though they were reasonably well packaged.

The heavier pellets were pretty much all OK even though some of the tins were dented.  Those in tins of 250 survived the best, probably because the smaller number is better confined and less able to move around.

So as an exercise I started an order for 19 tins of pellets from Krale.

That's 10 x tins of 500 .22 Hades pellets and 9 tins of 500 x 18.13 grn pellets.

(20 tins pushed postage up another $45 euro, but 19 tins is $50 Euro)

Landed that works out at $30.45 NZD per tin, delivered.
