I imagine after all the nv and night work you do, getting out during the day and not being focused through a scope ( not to mention no ballistic app) would be a huge change and totally refreashing.

I'm told that Koi have high oil content so good bait and excellent for making berley.

Kruza, there were a few big ones cruising around, the one in the pic is actually about 70cm FL, but its lying head down into a slight depression so dosent look as big. (I promise i'm not lying).

Nunga, you can eat carp, they taste like mud.
They also have strange "Y" shape pin bones which makes them seem like they have more bones than other fish.
Many different cultures around the world eat them, the further east you go the more prevalent they become.
I guess the more spices you add the better it gets

Been wanting to get out for a bow fish for ages...
Finally managed to get out onto the water today, just for a few hours.
Drove down to Rangariri and Huntly with a mate.
Waikato river is really low at the moment, lots of weed beds alond the edges, and plenty of carp as usual.
I'm clearly out of practise... I wont mention how many fish I missed, but if I had connected with every fish I shot at, the cooler box would have been full!
Didnt get too many pics, but we got a few each.
Was good to be out on the water again with a good mate.

Catfish, carp, rudd, perch and few others cannot be returned to the water at all, and are not allowed to leave the bank alive.
Catfish are in the Waikato river. I have caught many and eaten of over at lest 10 years, get them about a km up from huka falls. Where the water is fresh and clear and moving. I don't eat lake or dam fish cause of that muddy taste.
Some good tips in the review and some very nice fish.
Hopefully I'll make it next years carp shoot.
